Converged Threats

In a World of Converged Threats, Speed is Everything

Email and Web threats are converging. No longer is malware delivered simply through email. An apparently legitimate email can contain a seemingly innocent link to a website, but once clicked, you may be the victim of a drive-by download or worse. This classic example of phishing is just one type of converged threat where one communication channel exploits another for the purposes of criminal and fraudulent gain.

Threats have become more sophisticated, targeted, stealthy and costly. They are also shorter lived, making them harder to detect.

Now more than ever, speed is everything. You need a managed service solution that uses advanced scanning technology and keeps a watchful eye 24x7 so you can stay ahead of emerging threats.

Watch the Webinar on Converged Threats featuring Sam Masiello, Director of Threat Management at MX Logic and Jay Weiser, Sales Engineer at MX Logic. Learn how to protect your organization from these pervasive and evolving threats.

Sam Masiello oversees the MX Logic® Threat Operations Center.  In this role, he represents MX Logic’s primary resource for monitoring and predicting threat trends, offering insights to customers about potential threat vulnerabilities, and recommending new technologies to enhance email and Web security.

Masiello has more than 5 years of experience in email, network and applications security — in addition to 12 years of software development experience.  Before becoming director of threat management for MX Logic, Masiello managed the company’s quality assurance department, which tests software, foresees issues and risks, develops test plans and documents test results.

Prior to joining MX Logic, he held a variety of positions with Synacor, an ISP premium services provider, including project manager, software developer and manager of quality assurance.  Previously, Masiello served as a software developer for Client Logic, an outsourced services company.

Jay Weiser provides technical assistance to the company’s sales, marketing and channel departments in the form of product positioning, technical functionality and competitive information.  He also delivers webinars, provides post-sales technical assistance and presents product demonstrations on behalf of MX Logic.

Weiser’s 30 years of computer technology expertise includes more than 7 years as a sales engineer — serving as a technical sales manager, tech services department head and marketing director.

Before joining MX Logic, Weiser was a senior systems engineer for Worksoft, a software-test solutions company. Prior to that, Weiser held a variety of senior-level sales positions at Segue Software.  Earlier, he served as network manager for Aerodyne Research, technical services manager for Baranof Software and communications director for Metalman Corporation.  Weiser spent 6 years in the United States Navy as a nuclear qualified electrician.
